ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.


This position is contingent upon the successful acquisition of additional funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on the availability of resources.
 

The Career Pathways Coordinator (CPC) will work with refugees to discover their career pathways, equip them with needed skills to succeed, and promote entry into their chosen field. The CPC will maintain positive relationships with employers, refer clients to local education institutions and recertification opportunities, and follow up with each client to ensure enrollment, attendance, and successful completion. 

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 9/30/25 and contingent upon funding extension.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide coaching and instruction in areas of career path, personal finance, and  budgeting 
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and navigate vocational pathways at local  community colleges and institutions 
  • Assist employers to navigate and overcome potential barriers to employing  refugees 
  • Visit client job sites to evaluate success of job placement and troubleshoot  any complications with placements 
  • Work with Employment Team to creatively address barriers to self-sufficiency 
  • Assist clients to enroll in GED preparatory classes/tutoring and to navigate the  GED or other academic processes 
  • Maintain large amounts of client data, including case noting and database  maintenance 
  • Other related tasks as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field 
  • 1 year minimum professional experience in employment services, case  management, or work with immigrant populations 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients to appointments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced cross-cultural fluency 
  • Fluent in English with strong oral and written skills; preferably bi-lingual in a  language of WRQC’s service population (Pashto or Dari ) 
  • Ability to confidently communicate with and coach newly arrived refugees as  they prepare to enter the workforce 
  • Strong understanding of, and ability to coach others in, personal finance and  budgeting 
  • Excellent administrative skills, including experience with database management  and the ability to manage/process large amounts of data in an efficient and  accurate manner 
  • Advanced proficiency MS Office programs 
  • Detail oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks and demands 
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging, and multi-cultural environment 
  • Able to work well with others in a professional, friendly, and flexible manner 
  • Ability to problem solve independently and improve office functions  independently
