We seek a visionary Capital Projects Superintendent to oversee our multi-million dollar expansion and optimization initiatives. This role is critical in maintaining our position as the industry leader, driving innovation, and ensuring sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership and Execution:
Spearhead the execution of capital projects ranging from $5M to $100M+
- Develop comprehensive project charters, schedules, and budgets using advanced project management software
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and finance to ensure project alignment with strategic goals
- Engineering and Technical Oversight:
- Direct engineering processes for complex mining projects, including shaft sinking, underground development, and processing plant upgrades
- Evaluate and implement cutting-edge mining technologies to enhance productivity and safety
- Collaborate with geologists and mine planners to optimize resource extraction strategies
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Manage capital expenditures often exceeding $50M annually
- Conduct detailed financial assessments and ROI analyses for proposed projects
- Present project status, risk assessments, and financial reports to C-level executives
- Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Oversee procurement strategies for specialized mining equipment and services
- Negotiate high-value contracts with global suppliers and contractors
- Ensure compliance with international procurement standards and ethical sourcing practices
- Safety and Environmental Stewardship:
- Champion our zero-harm safety culture across all project sites
- Implement innovative environmental protection measures in line with global sustainability standards
- Lead initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance water conservation efforts
- Team Development and Mentorship:
- Mentor a team of 10-15 project engineers and coordinators
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborate with HR to identify and nurture high-potential talent within the organization
