Bon Secours Wellness Arena is seeking a skilled Camera Operator for live events. This position will operate cameras to capture live-action shots as part of the technical team during various events, including hockey, basketball, and other live shows.
Responsibilities
- Operate cameras to capture live footage of events
- Work closely with the Technical Director and Video Engineer to set up and connect the cameras with the Production Control Room, or Remote Production Truck
- Work with the Technical Director to achieve the desired picture framing, camera movement, and lens zoom while maintaining a sharp lens focus
- Collaborates with the Show Director, Technical Director, Video Engineer, and other Camera Operators to determine the location, setup, operation, and strike of the cameras
- Assist with camera setup and maintenance, including checking equipment, adjusting settings, and troubleshooting any issues
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a professional and respectful work environment
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years broadcast production experience operating as a camera operator for live and/or taped studio and remote multi-camera productions
- Prior experience operating PTZ cameras and camera shading during live events
- Knowledgeable of current industry standards; Prior experience at BSWA preferred.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate different types of studio/remote production cameras such as camera studio pedestals, cameras on tripods, Handheld cameras
- Knowledge of camera movements (zoom, tilt, pan, focus, pedestal, dolly)
- Familiarity with camera equipment and technologies; Good understanding of shot composition and framing
- Good computer skills, a logical approach, and a creative eye
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure live event environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Able to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical requirements:
- Comfortable routinely working within high noise levels, among crowds/high activity, and in fast-paced environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly.

Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly; Direct Deposit required.
Hourly Rate Range: starting $20 per hour, depending on experience level; FLSA status: non-exempt
Parking: Off-site/free parking available
Work Shifts:
Shift: average 5 hours per event
- Times/Days: varies; mainly evenings/nights and weekends; few day shifts available depending on event schedule.
- Minimum: must be available to work at least 1 shift every month
