CADD Tech IV

The CAD Technician IV will play a crucial role in our Power - Substation team located in Chicago! They will showcase complex CAD skills to support the planning, design and execution of several substation projects.

We are looking for an experienced CAD Technician who utilizes their project manager skills and works independently. They will also work with engineers and clients to resolve issues and handle final quality control reviews. 

What you will do:

  • Performing complex CAD work 
  • Final quality control reviews
  • Work with engineers and clients to resolve issues
  • Reading and understanding client standards and specifications, other project related documents and meeting their requirements
  • Data and document entry into various platforms
  • Train entry level CAD techs on client standard, and conduct QA/QC reviews for the work they produce
  • Scanning, copying and filing documents
  • Reporting safety, health and quality issues to management
  • Assist management on special projects as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

Your background:

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree 
  • Experience working in the power industry is preferred
  • 6 to 9 years + of CAD experience in an engineering discipline
  • Microstation and AutoCAD experience required 
  • Knowledge of protection and control design work
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and relevant project management software 
  • Proficient in computer graphics
