CAD Technician I/II

Our Gas team is growing and as such we are looking to hire an entry level CAD Technician I-II!

You will be an integral resource on our Consumer Energy projects performing CADD duties, being exposed to project management functions, working with engineers and clients to resolve issues.

As a CAD Technician, you will be required to manage individual gas service design projects that meet and exceed our client’s expectations. This requires existing knowledge of drafting software, with a preference towards MicroStation. Ideally you will effectively communicate and coordinate with our internal Milhouse team and the client in a timely and efficient manner.

What you will do:

  • Manage gas service design projects to find the optimal placement for gas services and meters.
  • Complete designs in a timely manner to meet client expectations.
  • Understand client standards and maintain a high level of quality in adherence to those standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal team, etc. on a daily basis to coordinate projects and design requirements.
  • Final quality control reviews.
  • Data and document entry into various platforms.
  • Assist management on special projects as directed.

What we are looking for:

  • Must exhibit great communication skills and have the ability to speak internally and with clients clearly and effectively.
  • Experience with delivering projects on schedule and keeping projects on task to meet client deadlines is a plus.
  • Must be adaptable to new concepts and have the ability to learn them quickly.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting civil/utility design plans is a plus.

Your background:

  • Associates or equivalent degree or certification in CAD drafting is a plus.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience, experience with utilities is a plus.
  • Experience using MicroStation or other CAD software is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Teams.
