Duties and Role:
Web Hosting Administration
- Enables web hosting platform to the customers to handle their websites and applications.
- Manages the setup, administration, management, and support of infrastructure required for the web hosting platform;
- Performs routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of web hosting platforms and related products.
- Investigates and enables the resolution of operational issues with ensuring the KPIs in respective SLAs are meet
- Identify and investigates complex problems and issues and recommends corrective actions.
- Follows the procedures to achieve the approvals for implementing necessary changes and maintenance routines.
- Uses platform management tools to determine load and performance statistics and creates reports.
- Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed web hosting platforms.
- Maintains operational procedures and instructions, and ensures that they are executed following agreed standards.
- Provides reports and proposals for improvement, to specialists, users and managers.
Systems installation and removal
- Undertakes or supervises complex installations and de-installations of systems or components, including handover to the client.
- Develops procedures and standards for installation and handover to maintain and improve the installation service.
- Schedules installation work around client priorities and resource availability.
- Ensures adherence to established safety and quality procedures.
Server Operating Systems and Platforms
- Compares and contrasts all major server systems and platforms.
- Describes multiple server operating systems and interoperability issues and considerations.
- Analyzes potential impact of new releases on existing and planned software products.
- Explains issues and considerations for modifying existing applications for server environment.
- Provides insights into advanced systems components, functions and facilities.
SharePoint Servers
- Instructs on the use of best practices of SharePoint technologies.
- Contributes to the design and architecture workshops for high availability, disaster recovery solutions.
- Participates in planning, implementation and risk management for upgrades.
- Implements interfaces to other platforms.
- Resolves problems for integration with 3rd party technologies and add-ons.
- Coaches others in all major SharePoint Server features and functions.
- Configures the topology for sharing services.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 4 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 6 years post-related experience.
- At least 3 years' experience with platform management in a large organization
- Extensive experience of Web application support
- Sound experience on deployment of security certificates, web site security, authentication mechanisms,
- Extensive server administration and troubleshooting experience
- Relevant SQL, network and business continuity knowledge
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant experience with SharePoint, Oracle Web Logic, IIS Server, Apache Tomcat
