Duties and Role
- Responsible for the installation (build), operations, administration, and maintenance of information and communications technology (ICT) systems;
- Work closely with other members of the ICT team to ensure that all systems are integrated and functioning properly;
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise, and perform routine maintenance tasks;
- Follows agreed procedures to perform simple installations, replace consumable items and check the correct working of installations;
- Install or remove hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools, including handover to the client.
- Use standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations, correct problems, and document results.
- Record details of all components that have been installed and removed.
- Assist users and follows agreed procedures for further help or escalation.
- Contribute to the development of installation procedures and standards.
- Monitor compliance against agreed processes and investigate, assess and resolve incidents of non-compliance, escalating where necessary;
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of network problems.
- Identify and report issues and risks;
- Provide emergency technical on-call support, if required.
- Perform other duties as may be required.
NOTE: Mainly office based, physical working conditions including moving and lifting of CIS equipment. Hours will vary outside of normal working hours depending on exercise schedule.
Requirements
- NATO Secret security clearance
- At least 2 years' experience providing functioning support of hardware, software, networks and computers in large organizations.
- Practical experience detecting and troubleshooting technical issues.
- A strong understanding of ICT systems and the ability to work independently to solve problems.
- Good experience with troubleshooting and providing end users' support.
- Good problem-solving/analytical and communication skills.
- Experience as a System Administrator predominantly within a MS Windows environment;
- ITIL Foundation Certificate;
- Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
