Why we're hiring:
The Data Solutions Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for the acquisition and management of requirements for new projects whilst helping maintain and enhance a suite of investment reporting systems, analytics applications, and data solutions. Activity will be for a range of markets globally.
What you'll be doing:
The primary responsibilities of the Business Systems Analyst are:
- Work closely with key stakeholders including business sponsors, product owners, development and support teams, and other parties involved in the successful scoping, development, testing, delivery, implementation and onboarding for the systems and applications
- Elicit and document requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, user stories task and workflow analysis
- Have primary responsibility for backlog management, maintaining the quality of user stories and acceptance criteria for an agile project
- Provide the primary point of coordination between local market delivery teams and global delivery teams
- Coordinate and oversee stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring continued alignment with local and global strategies
- Work with local markets to define, structure and deliver products against a phased programme of work based on a generic plan which is tailored to individual markets
- Ensure a continued focus on successful delivery and providing genuine business value and benefits (i.e. business benefits rather than just technical delivery)
- Perform in-depth data analysis which includes, but is not limited to, data profiling and data mapping between multiple data sources
- Perform data modelling and data interface design
- Create and maintain data documentation and knowledge base which includes, but is not limited to, data models, data dictionaries, data integration, mapping and lineage documents with detailed business logic and/or transformation rules
What you'll need:
Qualifications
- Relevant commercial experience in a Business Systems Analyst role in the domain of data warehouse, business intelligence, data analytics and/or reporting
Experience & Skills
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of agile and traditional business analysis techniques - business process modelling, scenarios, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, etc.
- Proven stakeholder management skills working with all levels of an organisation
- Extensive experience working with software development teams (agile/scrum, onshore and offshore), products owners, end users and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and business adoption of new technology
- Experience in a business systems analyst role in the domain of data warehouse, business intelligence, data analytics and/or reporting
- Experience working with an agile backlog, including creating and maintaining user stories and acceptance criteria
- Relational database knowledge, including ability to understand and craft entity relationship diagrams and write moderately complex SQL queries
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for data models, ETL processes, and data integration solutions.
- The ability to quickly learn and understand new business environments
- Planning, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal skills
- A proactive “can do” attitude and a willingness to be “hands on”
- A natural desire to share knowledge and teach others
- The ability to travel internationally (infrequently)
- The ability to work with teams from different time-zones and attend conference calls outside local office hours occasionally
Desirable
- Experience working in a media investment and/or ad tech environment – in particular with TV, Video, OTT, CTV, and Programmatic (DSP/SSP).
- Experience with the Microsoft product suite particularly cloud-based data products such as PowerBI, Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage, HDInsight, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Analytics Services
- Experience with Azure Dev/Ops (TFS) and Teams for backlog management and collaboration
- A good understanding of media and technology trends and movements
