The Role:
Morning Consult is looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial business leader to manage and grow a diverse client service portfolio and team ($15M+ annual revenue). This role will lead a high-performance client service team dedicated to delivering quality data and strategic custom insights to inform critical business decisions. They’ll also serve as part of the Commercial Leadership team and contribute to the development and implementation of the division’s growth strategy across a variety of Fortune 500 companies.

Collaboration with leaders in Business Development and Subject Matter Experts is a cornerstone of the role. The Business Portfolio Leader will lead account teams in developing and executing strategic account plans across a variety of industries and offers. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment and be equally passionate about building a sustainable, high-growth business and best-in-class client service team.

The Research Solutions Team at Morning Consult:
The Research Solutions Team at Morning Consult is focused on custom-designed research and is crucial to Morning Consult’s industry-leading, customer-obsessed Commercial Organization and its ability to drive sustainable growth across our entire portfolio of business. Morning Consult’s mission is to deliver high-impact, quality intelligence at scale to decision-makers anytime, anywhere. Our team consists of business leaders and researchers with experience in market research, insights, political polling, strategic consulting and more.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Creating and activating key account growth strategies in partnership with other commercial stakeholders to drive customer retention and year-over-year revenue growth
  • Developing and prioritizing customer relationships with key decision-makers and influencers for the greatest ROI
  • Providing strong and consistent financial oversight for your team and delivering timely and accurate updates to the business via monthly/quarterly forecasts
  • Overseeing and driving effective and efficient talent management for the team, including but not limited to resource needs, performance management and building a pipeline of top-level talent for our most critical and strategic roles
  • Collaborating with stakeholders from across the entire organization to drive our innovation agenda (Product, Engineering, Offer and Marketing)
  • Partnering with executive leadership and the People team to implement organizational change and activate employee engagement strategies
  • Demonstrating industry thought leadership by representing Morning Consult internally and externally (speaking engagements, conferences, POVs, etc.)
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiencies and increase profitability

About You and What You’ve Done:

  • 15+ years of experience
  • Success in a general management role for a large, high-growth team
  • Experience in financial management, financial reporting and forecasting
  • Strong team leadership skills with an ability to scale and develop top talent and promote a positive work experience
  • Proven ability to engage executive stakeholders with confidence, earn their trust as a partner and positively impact client decisions/outcomes
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional presentation skills and ability to craft data-driven frameworks and narratives for exec stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Easily able to delegate and prioritize work based on the scale of impact
  • Uncompromising attention to detail and appreciation for data-driven decisions
  • Creative problem solver with an ability to simplify complex scenarios/challenges
  • Significant experience working in/overseeing data-driven, market-research teams
  • Experience with research design, execution and analytics related to brand, corporate reputation, audience measurement, campaign effectiveness and/or innovation research
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement

The expected salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000, with a midpoint of $225,000.

In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation.
