Role Summary:
The Consulting Services Business Manager collaborates with internal business stakeholders to design, develop, and manage Unify’s consulting business and with external partners and clients to advance growth opportunities. To accomplish this, under the direction of the Chief Consulting Service Officer (CCSO), the Business Manager will create strategies, manage programs, drive communications, engage partners, plan internal and client-facing events, and conduct reporting and analysis. This role is pivotal in driving growth, enhancing client relationships, and ensuring high quality delivery of our consulting services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategy development, project management, communications, presentation development, client engagement, event management, and performance measurement. This is a hybrid role and will require on site work at the Unify office in Kirkland office three to four days a week.
Strategy & Operations
- Collaborate with the Chief Consulting Services Officer to develop growth strategies for the consulting organization and other functions.
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for consulting services.
- Identify, review, recommend, and deploy improvements to organizational structure.
- Provide plans, project management, and communications to guide the leaders in the Consulting Services organization including Solutions Managing Directors, Solutions Directors, Practice Directors, and Practice Managers.
- Drive programs to collect reusable content for consulting delivery.
- Promote development of and curate solutions offering content and case studies to support consulting sales activities.
- Support development of client-facing proposals as needed.
- Influence and support change management for strategic initiatives and organizational changes.
- Plan, author and distribute internal communications across stakeholder teams to drive strategy adoption and transformation of behaviors.
- Present strategies and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage and report on key performance indicators and metrics.
- Translate data and reporting analysis into actionable business insights to optimize results.
Learning & Development
- Plan and execute consultative sales learning and development programs.
- Plan and execute delivery quality learning and development programs.
- Develop curriculum targeted to audiences/personas.
- Create training content, both visuals and scripts, in PowerPoint, video recordings, documents and other mediums.
- Develop and share communications to drive training, coaching sessions, client meetings with coaching, and other forms of participation and engagement.
- Measure training success through scorecards and reports.
Partnerships
- Identify and execute strategies to improve engagement and perception with technology partners like Microsoft, AWS, Google, Snowflake, and Salesforce.
- Organize and drive co-selling activities and behaviors among Unify’s client-facing leaders including relationship building with partner field representatives, sharing of solutions and case studies, and pursuit of opportunities that leverage technology partnerships.
- Engage directly with account executives and leaders at partner companies. Schedule meetings, share summaries, and follow up on actions.
- Create external marketing content (one-pagers, overviews, points of view, webinars, proposals, etc.) about Unify and its solution offerings and capabilities for use with partners and clients.
- Plan, organize, and execute external partnership-related events. Coordinate logistics, manage budgets, and ensure successful event delivery. Track and report on event results.
- Organize and drive consultant training and credentialing to support partnership development (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft, AWS, Salesforce, etc.).
- Help set partnership goals and track and operationalize partnership scorecard metrics.
External Board Management
- Lead idea generation and planning for new Data Analytics Leadership Board events across multiple markets.
- Plan the logistics, content, and execution of events with elements including event venue scheduling, client communications, internal communications, supplies/gifts, and reporting.
- Track board event success and conduct retros for continuous improvement.
Skill/Abilities and Minimum Qualifications:
- Five or more years of experience in leading in strategy development, business operations, project management, content development, external communications, and reporting
- Two or more years in management consulting preferred
- Strategic and critical thinking skills
- Professional writing and communication skills
- Strong storytelling and presentation/PowerPoint skills
- Project and program management experience
- Experience in event management and partner engagement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders
- Change management and communications style/experience
- Familiar with and use of process improvement tools and methods
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired. MBA preferred
- Experience in managing/leading people desired
