We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Business Development Representative, specific to our interior design segment, to increase company revenue by identifying exciting new business opportunities within the commercial interior design space. This role will help to develop long-term business growth strategies and cultivate new relationships with Spoonflower prospective customers and partners. 
The Business Development Representative is responsible for net new business opportunities specific to the commercial interior design space, including, but not limited to offices, hotels, restaurants, and retail. Partnering cross-functionally with the Merchandising and Marketing teams, this role will develop and manage opportunity creation for net new Spoonflower customers in the commercial sector. Activities will include establishing and managing a robust pipeline of commercial organizations, including, but not limited to architectural firms, interior design firms, wallcovering vendors, and identifying specific leads for opportunity conversion.
The ideal candidate has a passion for interior design and architecture and is interested in cultivating business relationships that result in sales opportunities. This person also loves telling the Spoonflower story to businesses with similar purpose-driven values and meaningful aesthetic in their properties. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for delivering new opportunity creation in the interior design commercial space. 

Location: While the corporate headquarters is in Durham, North Carolina, this role will be geographically based for territory coverage. Candidates who live near Denver, CO - Austin, TX - Dallas, TX are preferred.

Primary Responsibilities
1.    Identify hit list of prospective firms and potential leads who are stakeholders in commercial builds and projects
2.    Coordinate outbound efforts via sample books and subsequent follow ups to prospects 
3.    Research additional target firms to pre-qualify as sales opportunities
4.    Demonstrate the value proposition of our product and services 
5.    Manage a high volume of leads in CRM tool to accurately and efficiently build pipeline  
6.    Excel at qualifying each opportunity properly to ensure the right level of follow up 
7.     Schedule deep dive discovery calls for the Trade Account Management team • 
8.    Follow up on various marketing campaigns/sample shipments
9.    Continuously develop sales and acquisition skills
 
Suggested Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field 
•    Less than 1 year of relevant experience. Examples: interior design and/or architectural course work, internships, business development roles, etc. 
•    Self-starter, eager to identify and develop opportunities with little supervision
•    Agile, willing to adjust as the market and commercial climate changes
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
•    Able to convey empathy through active listening
•    Cool under pressure with an appropriate sense of urgency
•    Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts effectively

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.

California : [$66,250-$93,750]

Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island: [$66,250-$85,750]

Colorado and Washington: [$66,250-$79,500]

Nevada: [$57,750-$85,750]

This opportunity can be remote, but candidates must reside in a state in which Shutterfly is registered to do business. This includes all US states except District of Columbia, North Dakota, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming.
