We are looking for a Business Development Manger who will drive the growth and profitability of Project Business by strategically managing and expanding sales opportunities with both existing and new customers. This role requires optimizing account performance and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective relationship management, partnerships and project support. You will lead efforts to acquire new customers and provide expert commercial and technical advice. By fostering cross-departmental communication and collaboration, you will work to grow the share of wallet and market share, achieving growth through collective strengthening.

Additionally, you will spearhead the Sales team and coordinate tasks, ensuring seamless and effective collaboration and communication within the Sales team and across departments to drive sales success. You will manage the daily operations of the local Project Business team, design and implement a set of (personal) KPIs, and ensure the further development of team members to maintain optimal team performance.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Achieves sales and margin quota in products and services through the assigned and new accounts;
  • Responsible for maintaining, developing and expanding the existing accounts portfolio;
  • Creates and implements the account plans;
  • Manages the performance of the assigned accounts by analysing the volume, turnover, product portfolio and margin developments per customer, and shares this information;
  • Develops and maintains the relationship with existing accounts to increase customer loyalty and retention;
  • Timely provides customers with a relevant information about products and/or services;
  • Acquires new customers within existing and/or new market segments;
  • Works together with assigned accounts on project opportunities, provides commercial and technical advice on products, solutions and services;
  • Maintains contact with non-buying project stakeholders where applicable to increase project success rate;
  • Monitors ongoing projects and supports customers on commercial and technical questions including on-site advice and problem solving to ensure customer & end-user satisfaction;
  • Provides the assigned accounts with commercial and where applicable technical trainings;
  • Collects, interprets and shares the market information about customers, competitors and potential business development opportunities;
  • Collects and provides input on market share, share of wallet and price evolution for the budget process of the company;
  • Advises on market developments and trends as input for the company's strategy;
  • Enters and regularly updates accounts and projects information in Salesforce to ensure the accuracy of data;
  • Organizes and coordinates tasks within the department/team, ensures liaison and information exchange within the team and between departments; manages the local Project Business team, and fosters cross-departmental communication to collectively strengthen the business;
  • Designs, implements, and monitors a set of personal KPIs throughout the year; ensures continuous improvement of processes and procedures based on market feedback;
  • Trains, develops, and coaches team members.
  • Bachelor degree in related field, preferably in Marketing/Business/Economics;
  • > 5 years of sales experience;
  • Proven work experience in the construction supply chain or related industry;
  • Tech savvy, with an interest in new technology;
  • Ability to work independently and be self-driven;
  • Be proactive, with an entrepreneurial and results-driven attitude;
  • Essential soft skills: high potential, drive & energy; ambition, natural people person and team player; strong relationship-building abilities; excellent collaboration and communication skills;
  • Have an understanding of marketing and selling basics, like market factors, business performance indicators, value chain and sources of growth;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and French language.
