Business Development Manager

The Opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Business Development Manager based in Tokyo with experience selling marketing technology, and/or other professional tech-based services to enterprise brands. You will be expected to provide a consultative experience to customers, deep-diving into business needs and challenges, then develop strategic and technical solutions that can effectively address client requirements.

You will be responsible for driving growth in existing and new client relationships – navigating upsell/cross-sell opportunities as well as managing the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting, nurturing lead opportunities to contract negotiation, and deal closure.

 

Responsibilities include

  • Reporting to the MD APAC, you will own your sales pipelines and all opportunities in your portfolio
  • Providing consultative expertise across platform capabilities, marketing strategy, and analytics to Medium to Large Enterprises
  • Taking sales from prospecting to close, both for outbound sales efforts and inbound referrals/leads
  • Accountable for strategic account planning and customer relationship management
  • Recognizing/answering the RFP and communicating with customers
  • Organize and manage for RFI/RFP and prepare/create sales pitch

 

What you bring to it:

  • With 5+ years of martech in your pocket, you will bring consultative  expertise to all client conversations to help derive real business value from client partnerships in the making
  • Experience working in strategic account growth and/or new business sales role; experience selling into enterprise marketing organizations preferred
  • Have regional experience in Japanese markets with a good understanding of the market’s cultural nuances for client communication and relationship management
  • Good knowledge of, and, experience working with major ad-tech / mar-tech stacks, inclusive of marketing automation, CRM, DSPs, ad servers, social or web analytics platforms
  • Strong verbal, visual and written communication skills, particularly in blending analysis and narrative to create compelling slide presentations and business proposals
  • Speak fluent English & Japanese
