Business Development Manager, Japan

You will own the revenue and distribution growth of your market. You will work closely with the Channel Partnerships team to hunt for new partnerships and develop new opportunities with Insurers, Brokers, Corporate Partners and Government agencies across the market. You will also work closely with the Strategic Partnerships team to explore further growth opportunities in the healthcare, education and government space. You will help to build awareness of mental wellbeing, position Intellect as a suitable end-to-end solution for the market, participate in sales activities and execute deals. You will also be the main point of liaison for Intellect in the market, and will support other activities (including but not limited to talks and roadshows) that will further showcase Intellect in your assigned market. 

You will report directly to the Vice President of Partnerships and Solutions, and work closely with both the Japan team and HQ, with immense opportunity to lead and scale the identified emerging market.

  • Work closely with the team to develop and build new partnerships with brokers, insurers, corporate partners and government across the region
  • Collaborate with internal (Product, Marketing, etc) and external stakeholders to customise the product/solutions to fit the go-to-market strategy
  • Participate in conferences and industry events to position Intellect as the choice solution for mental wellbeing
  • Pitch and close deals for Intellect in your assigned market
  • Be responsible for the end to end sales cycle for deals in your assigned market
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of partners to engage and activate
  • Complete any other duties as associated with the business development of the market for Intellect

Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in the employer healthcare benefit consultant/broker or insurance/reinsurance space/TPA space with partnerships experience
  • Experience in channel, consulting, strategy, or business development
  • Great track record of sourcing, developing, and maintaining partner relationships
  • Has an understanding of the employee benefits space
  • A strong self-starter
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a can-do attitude
  • Meticulous and has high attention to detail
  • Good sense of commercials and deal making
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English
  • Good team player
