Business Development Manager Institutional - Octopus Australia

Responsibilities:

  • A demonstrated ability to win new business and proactively deliver outstanding service to clients.
  • Driving sales into our platform through targeted campaigns and promotion of specific investment products.
  • Achieving sales targets across institutional clients, super funds and consultants.
  • Supporting the Funds team to reach sales targets for relevant products.
  • Contributing to presentations and pitching to clients as a subject matter expert on OA and our platform.
  • Account management of key institutional and consultant relationships.
  • Executing national roadshows for investment manager representatives to further promote products through various channels.
  • Delivering educational and sponsorship opportunities through various conferences and professional development days.
  • Domestic Travel is required in this role.

Ideally, you will have some or all of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with CFA preferred but not essential.
  • At least 5 years of sales or service experience.
  • Proven sales experience in institutional sales, with relevant experience in distribution, investments favourable.
  • Strong knowledge of the investment management industry, including investment structures, funds management and competitors.
  • Highly self-driven, proactive, resilient and motivated to work at pace.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Clear and articulate communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Existing strong relationships with institutions, superannuation funds and consultants.
  • A team player.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a self-starting mentality with ability to run a sales pipeline and client segmentation.
  • Very comfortable networking.
