Who We Want
As a Business Development Manager with Arrive Logistics, you will join one of the fastest-growing tech enabled freight brokerage firms in the US, with over $2 billion in annual revenue and plans to grow significantly over the next five years. In this critical sales leadership role, you will take on the responsibility of overseeing a growing team of high-performing business development sales representatives. You will do this through diligently managing your team and leveraging your industry knowledge to educate, coach and train them to holistically develop them and set them up for success in our industry. You will support your team in growing active accounts through best-in-class customer service and execution while also strategically landing new business across SMB, Mid-Market and Enterprise segments.
What You’ll Do
- Work with a team of new and experienced business development reps to strategically develop their relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- work cross-functionally with internal teams such as carrier sales, accounting, marketing, executive leadership, legal and others that support customer success.
- Responsible for setting the team’s monthly forecast goal and holding the sales reps accountable to the forecast.
- Become an expert in selling dedicated capacity, our business model and competitive advantages, and our proprietary software.
- Develop your team in the areas of lead generation, pipeline management, market knowledge, technology, the process of winning freight and more.
- Hold one-on-one meetings with the reps on your team to provide individual support, coaching, regular performance feedback and provide career development opportunities/suggestions.
- Assist reps with pricing strategy and prospecting, as needed.
- Create, identify and attack all opportunities to win transactional and contractual freight.
- Guide your team to think strategically about their clients’ business and bring innovative ideas to help grow the accounts.
- Add additional bandwidth and support to win more volume and regularly monitor participation in pricing exercises.
- Guide reps to obtain and execute RFPs as needed.
- Help reps diversify their business by expanding modes and depth of account penetration.
- Provide strategic leadership and act as the face of Arrive for reps who need support on large accounts, joining in on-site meetings as needed.
- Leading your team through discovery calls, opportunity reviews and pipeline reviews.
- Have a regular cadence with top accounts to build rapport and relationships.
- Motivate your team to hustle and act as a true champion of the fun, casual and collaborative Arrive culture!
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience in third party logistics with 1-2 years of sales management experience. This can be at an asset or non-asset based company, but brokering experience is a MUST!
- Demonstrated market awareness and ability to price TL shipments accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills, with the proven ability to collaborate with management and peers alike.
- Desire to develop the next generation of freight brokers!
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position has supervisory responsibilities of 10+ direct reports within the department.
- This is an in-office role with occasional opportunities to work from home. This leader must be developing and leading their team in person in order to be successful.
