About the role:

To obtain new business in the Aerospace sector at a profitable level, ensuring that you meet and exceed your budgeted targets as set by the Commercial Director.

What you will be doing:

  • Sales & development
    • New business
      • Obtain new business at a profitable level
      • Prompt & efficient response to both existing & new client requests
    • Targets
      • Ensure sales targets are met & exceeded on a monthly basis
    • Quoting & tenders
      • Ensure all client & prospect requests either locally or overseas are answered within the time lines given
    • Calls
      • A minimum of 20 legitimate calls per month
    • Relationships
      • Continuous engagement with clients in order to understand new opportunities for Bollore Logistics & develop these opportunities to benefit the development of Bollore Logistics
      • Assist with resolution of Customer issues
  • Operations & Customer Service
    • Customer Service
      • Liaise with Customer Service & Operations to ensure customer profiles are set up & updated correctly
    • Operations
      • Updating of CONCERTO (CRM) from sales calls on a weekly basis
    • Credit Applications
      • Ensure all new business complete credit applications, & follow up on the process of approval with the accounts department
    • Accounts Receivable
      • Assist accounting staff when required to resolve any financial disputes with your customers
  • Suppliers
    • In conjunction with our Procurement Management, develop strong relationships with contractors and subcontractors in order to deliver high quality services to Clients.
    • Negotiating with shipping / airlines / carriers and other forwarders
  • Overseas Offices & Agents
    • Liaise with overseas offices to obtain best possible rates and services from these offices.
    • Generate sales leads for the overseas network.
  • Daily Thinking
    • Adhere and work within the companies ‘Daily Thinking’ structure of Innovation, Operational Excellence, Flexibility, reactivity and Client Satisfaction
  • Reporting
    • Weekly reports/dashboards
      • Ensure data input is added into CONCERTO on a regular weekly basis so that activity is visible
    • Budget
      • Assist the Branch Manager(s) & Commercial Director with preparation of the yearly Sales budget.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Ensure that the Company Policies and Procedures when undertaking your duties are followed at all times.
    • Reporting any complaints or problems raised by Customers, overseas offices/agents to Management
    • The promotion and development of all facets of Bollore Logistics services
    • Import, Export and Value Added Services.
    • Work closely with all staff to ensure that the Company standards are being met.
    • Ensure that the duties undertaken are up to date on a daily basis.
    • Undertaking from time to time other operational and management tasks as specified by management
  • Any other tasks as requested by management from time to time

Requirements

The successful candidate:

Essential:

  • Minimum three years of Commercial Management or related experience
  • Sound knowledge of all facets of freight forwarding
  • Ability to gain new business and develop existing business
  • Commitment to customer service and quality improvement

Desirable:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and strategic skills
  • Excellent people skills & ability to achieve objectives
  • Basic financial knowledge – profitability and margins
  • Ability to prioritise & excellent computer skills
  • Sound conflict resolution skills & ability to think laterally and find quick & effective solutions to problems
