About Brenger

Brenger is a clean-tech startup based in Amsterdam, founded in October 2016 by Wisse Koedam and Derk van der Have. Our transport platform makes transporting large items (such as a sofa, bike or a cupboard) easy for everyone. Brenger provides these transports by using the empty space in vans that already drive around. This mission, "to fill every courier van on the road", is win-win-win: we make transporting large items easy and affordable, our couriers make more money, and we save CO2 by driving fewer kilometers. Since inception, we have avoided more than 14,885,871 unnecessary kilometers, saving 4,372 tonnes of CO2.

Since our launch in 2016, we have grown considerably. Brenger started in the Netherlands, became active in Belgium and Germany, and we are about to scale up even further. There are some exciting years ahead in which we want to grow substantially and professionalize further to cope with this growth. In short: we are a very ambitious team with big plans to expand into Europe!

What will you do?

Brenger offers a unique solution for shipping bulky items, both C2C (peer-to-peer) and B2C. For Brenger's growth in C2C shipments, partnerships are essential. By integrating with second-hand marketplaces, we extend our services to a broader audience, simplifying the process of buying and selling large items. This not only boosts sales for all parties but also encourages a shift toward choosing second-hand over new, contributing to a significant positive impact.

In the competitive B2C market, there are untapped niches where Brenger offers an ideal solution for stores and webshops selling large items. Unlocking this potential means crafting tailored propositions for our sales team.

As Business Development Lead, you’ll lead the expansion of our partnerships and B2C business in the Benelux and Germany. You'll drive growth with current marketplace partners while also building new ones from scratch. Additionally, you'll reshape our B2C proposition(s). As we scale, you’ll help build the partnerships team, allowing you to focus on strategic initiatives and high-impact opportunities.

Collaboration across teams is key. You’ll work with marketing on partnership promotions, with sales on B2C propositions, and with product, customer experience, and support teams to refine our partnership offerings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnership Management (40%): Strengthen and maintain relationships with key partners. Lead initiatives to grow these partnerships for ongoing success.

  • Business Development (30%): Drive strategies to expand Brenger’s partnerships and B2C business in the Benelux and Germany. Conduct market research, develop propositions, and create integration concepts. Build trust with potential partners by fostering awareness of our services.

  • Project Management (30%): Collaborate with internal teams to enhance partnership and B2C propositions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

In your first 100 Days, you will:

  • Deep dive into Brenger’s B2C product and its integrations with key partners.

  • Establish contact with current partners and start leading initiatives.

  • Conduct a thorough market analysis on large shipments in the Benelux and Germany. Identify potential C2C partners and B2C niches.

  • Develop a detailed market overview and an initial expansion strategy.

  • Outline a plan for integrating new partners, including timelines and key milestones.

  • Lead the expansion efforts, collaborating closely with internal teams.

After 12 Months, you will have:

  • Successfully scaled existing partnerships.

  • Successfully integrated Brenger with at least one new leading marketplace.

  • Reshaped our main proposition for B2C.

  • Demonstrated accelerated growth in a new market.

Career development

In the long term, as Brenger continues to grow, you’ll have the chance to further develop the commercial team and advance into roles such Head of Business Development or Commercial Director. There’s also potential to take on a Country Lead position, overseeing broader regional responsibilities and driving strategic initiatives.
