The Position:
Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Business Developer to cultivate business opportunities at the Department of the Interior, Department of Agriculture, and/or other Federal Civilian agencies. Individuals must reside in the local DMV area—Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia—and be onsite when required.
Role Specific Duties
Create and manage a pipeline of activities, including the ability to identify and source opportunities, execute the capture process, pursue prospective contracts, and lead all involved parties to a win
Build relationships with strategic partners across our space; maintain customer relationships and strategic teaming partner relationships
Direct and actively participate in positioning the business development/capture strategy for specific opportunities, overseeing and guiding from opportunity identification to proposal submission
Be invested in industry by attending events, trade shows etc.
Develop and maintain Account Plans that drive an overall pursuit strategy across the customer base
Work collaboratively with the SA/CTO to define solutions which reflect customer needs
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, computer science, or related fields, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience and an understanding of IT professional services
Must have hands-on relationships with key decision makers and have a track record of success within the Department of Interior, Department of Agriculture, and/or other Federal Civilian agencies
Take charge and be able to work independently with minimal direction
Demonstrated experience working in a similar role exceeding designated sales targets/quota
Experience with an industry-standard federal account/capture management and proposal development methodologies
US Citizenship or Green Card holders with at least 3 years of residence within the US.
Candidates will have to undergo public sector MBI Clearance.
