Facilitating Data Collection & Integration: Acting as a liaison between the Product and Engineering teams, helping to define and build new datasets within the organization's data analytics platforms, ensuring data is accessible and relevant for analysis.
Analytical Problem Solving: Utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and address business challenges, translating them into data-driven solutions that add value across the organization.
Collaborating with Data Teams: Working closely with other Business Analysts, Data Analysts, and Data Stewards to prioritize, enrich, and maintain a healthy backlog of tasks, ensuring ongoing development and enhancement of data initiatives.
Translating Business Requirements to Technical Solutions: Helping translate business needs into technical specifications, assisting in the development and enhancement of big data pipelines, and applying modern data engineering principles and best practices.
Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Collaborating with business groups to conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on analytics platforms and reporting tools, collecting feedback, and suggesting improvements to enhance system performance and usability.
Optionally showcasing Insights through Dashboards: Developing and presenting data-backed insights using business intelligence and dashboarding tools (e.g. Power BI, QuickSight) to provide clear, visual representations of key platform metrics and trends.
What we’re looking for:
Strong Communication & Business Acumen: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights and translate them into business value. Demonstrated ability to foster strong working relationships across teams and with global business stakeholders.
Experienced Data Analyst: Accredited Data Analyst with over 7 years of experience, preferably within the content publishing sector. Strong understanding of data analysis in both structured and unstructured environments, with experience in big data concepts being a significant advantage.
Expertise in Data-Driven Projects: Proven track record of contributing to or leading Digital Transformation initiatives, with a focus on data interpretation and turning raw data into actionable insights, even when data is not readily available.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS, especially Redshift, is highly desirable.
Commercial Understanding: Ability to work closely with global business stakeholders to understand commercial objectives, ensuring that data insights align with and support the organization's strategic goals.
Critical & Analytical Thinking: A critical thinker who challenges assumptions and brings innovative solutions to business problems through data-driven decision-making.
Business & Technology Alignment: Adept at connecting business requirements with technology solutions, helping to bridge the gap between users and technical teams to create effective and scalable data solutions.
Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to drive continuous improvement and iterative delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Project Management Tools: Excellent experience with project management and collaboration tools like Jira, JIRA Align (JA), and Confluence to manage workflows, track progress, and maintain alignment across teams.
Relevant Certifications: Possession of relevant business analysis certifications or qualifications, demonstrating formal training and a commitment to continuous learning.
