Senior Business Area Controller at AFRY
As a Business Area Controller, you will be directly involved in the company’s continued development, with excellent opportunities to influence and help create the best conditions for our ongoing growth.
You will be part of AFRY’s Energy Division, which has over 2,100 energy and power experts. Together, they cover all aspects of energy production and market analysis, from feasibility studies to commissioning. In this role, you will be the overall responsible Business Area Controller for the BA Transmission & Distribution of Energy Division which has a turnover of approximately ~900 million SEK; including business units in eight regions of the world across Europe and Asia.
You will also have specific responsibility for the fast growing Transmission and Distribution business located in Denmark.
Responsibilities and Main Tasks:
• Project follow-up and project accounting
• Driving the budget process
• Monthly reporting (consolidation)
• Monthly operational follow-up, including budget and forecast review
• Cost and revenue review
• Risks and opportunities review
• Support in setting up and influencing Transmission and Distribution strategy
• Weekly operational follow-up, including Utilization and Attendance
• Part of the management team for the Transmission and Distribution Business Area
• Participate in and drive projects related to business development and operational efficiency
• Involvement in integration during acquisition processes
You will report to the Business Area Manager and functionally to the division’s CFO.
Your location, background and experience
Location can be flexible within Europe or Asia. What is more important is your attitude. You need to be a team player ideally with experience of working in a matrix organisation.
English is our main global working language and you must have fluent business language skills in this. Proficiency in German or Nordic languages would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will have completed at least a first degree in Business management or a related topic with at least five years of comparable experience in qualified business controlling work, preferably within the service sector. It would be highly beneficial if you have a good understanding of consulting operations with proven experience in project accounting and project follow-up. The division is growing, often through acquisitions, so experience in company acquisitions and integrating new operations is advantageous. Experience with system implementations is also a merit. You will have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, are generally interested in IT and ERP systems, and ideally have experience with Maconomy.
It goes without saying that you need the ability to quickly grasp the business and our operations. As a person, you are a problem-solver with a strong business interest. You are business-oriented, work proactively, and can easily establish relationships in a complex organization. You can take a broader perspective, understanding the big picture, yet also recognize when details are essential. You have the capability to organize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities and to meet deadlines.
