We are seeking a Business Analyst with Dashboard Development project experience for a 6-month contract (with the option to extend further).   This can work remotely, with a preference for candidates in the Mountain Time Zone (Colorado would be ideal).  

 

This role will be assisting in a new project that has been created to optimize data utilization by creating interactive dashboards that provide operational insights. These insights are fundamental in aiding staff at various levels, answering questions, and triggering actions to drive operations. As process frameworks are being implemented to progressively develop data analytics dashboards across the organization, the need for a Business Analyst specializing in Dashboard Development is paramount. This role demands substantial engagement with staff, necessitating exemplary communication, group facilitation, and collaboration skills.

This position will be reporting directly to the BI Program Manager. The arrangement is primarily remote, with possible onsite group work sessions in Denver. Contract extensions will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct discovery sessions with staff to understand analytics needs and confirm requirements.
  • Develop dashboard wireframes compliant with design standards to fulfill analytics requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with staff and team members throughout the design, development, delivery, and continuous enhancement of data analytics dashboards.
  • Conduct tests on dashboards to ensure requirements are met and organize test sessions with the staff.
  • Work with team members on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the dashboard process framework. Provide necessary training for staff to engage effectively with the process framework.
  • Organize and lead work sessions with staff groups for discovery/requirements, testing, and training.
  • Elicit, document, and validate dashboard requirements from staff.
  • Lead the creation of dashboard wireframes and designs leveraging internal design standards. Collaboratively iterate with staff and team members. Post-approval, coordinate with developers for dashboard development.
  • Document dashboard testing results and compare them against requirements. Collaborate with developers to rectify issues.
  • Train staff on dashboard usage and integrate training materials within dashboards.
  • Utilize team collaboration tools for tracking activities related to the dashboard process framework.
  • Seek and incorporate dashboard feedback from staff.
  • Contribute to the website content supporting the dashboard process framework and dashboard usage within the department.  
  • Experience working in an agile environment with iterative deliverable review/refine cycles.
  • 5 years of Business Analyst experience.
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • 2 years of experience in diagramming/wireframing.
  • Experience in User Experience (UX) design.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace collaboration tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with the Lucidchart software platform.
  • Experience with website content management in support of engaging staff in the development and use of dashboards.

This 6-month contract can work remotely, with a preference for candidates in the mountain time zone (Colorado would be ideal).  This role can work between 32-40 hours per week with the ability to be available between 9:00 am- 4:00 pm MST Monday-Thursday.
