DNA (Drive Network Automation) is an initiative which unites several projects which are building a technology-savvy platform used across different instances and domains intended for automation and orchestration of network elements, services and network functions. MDO stands for MultiDomain Orchestrator - the platform that orchestrates networks across various domains. We are looking for Network Engineers with different level of telecommunication experience from juniors to architects, who are interested in joining the team of leading industry experts driving Network Automation and Orchestration initiatives within Deutsche Telekom and its subsidiary national telecom operators
Responsibilities
- Develop data models for network orchestration solutions to configure, monitor and perform administrative actions on different network elements
- Implement service workflows using data modelling languages (such as TOSCA and BPMN) and scripting language (Python)
- Interact with the customer to analyze their need and find solutions
- Create or review user stories together with our PO with relevant acceptance criteria and confirm that they are in line with the business rules
- Discuss with all stakeholders (customer, technical team, and PO) following Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and DevOps practices to make sure that there is no gap at any level
Required Skills
Analytical
- Ability to analyze complex network automation requirements and translate them into user stories for developers
- Strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and optimize automation workflows
- Ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner
- English spoken and written (Level B2)
Technical
- Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies
- Good knowledge of the conception and development of automation technologies and solutions (orchestration, service modelling)
- Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) principles and cloud networking architectures
- Experience in defining and maintaining complex data models
- Experience in object-oriented programming with Python or similar languages
- Experience in developing of restful API’s
- Version management of software and configuration artifacts (e.g. GIT, MCICD…)
- Basic knowledge of networking (e.g. WAN / LAN / routing / 5G slicing)
- Technical understanding of telecommunications infrastructure
Nice to have
- Data and status models according to e.g. TMF-SID
- Markup languages such as YAML, JSON
- Description standards such as TOSCA, YANG
- Experience in configuration of key telecommunication service processes: OSR, assurance and fulfilment in modern transport networks
- Test-Driven development (TDD)
- Model based Automation
- Workflow (e.g. BPMN, CAMUNDA)
- DevOps mindset
