Business Analyst (Associate Principal Engineer)

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst (Associate Principal Engineer) to join our dynamic team in Tokyo, Japan. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of IT services, business operations, and the potential of technology to drive efficiency and growth. Knowledge of the manufacturing domain is essential to effectively support our clients in this sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Engagement

  • Lead client workshops to gather business requirements, understand pain points, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, acting as a trusted advisor for IT and business strategy.

• Business Process Mapping

  • Analyze, design, and document business processes, identifying inefficiencies and areas for optimization.
  • Develop process flow diagrams and documentation to support proposed improvements and increased productivity.

• Solution Design

  • Work with clients and internal teams to create scalable, innovative IT solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Present solution designs to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine and enhance the proposed solutions.

• Project Management & Delivery

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and manage project expectations.
  • Oversee the implementation of solutions, providing support to meet client satisfaction and deliver ongoing value.

• Consulting & Advisory

  • Advise clients on industry best practices and emerging technology trends, with a focus on the Japanese market and manufacturing domain.
  • Keep current with IT trends and regulatory changes in Japan to provide clients with informed, up-to-date recommendations.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, preferably in engineering or technical projects
• Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Power BI
• Expertise in business process modeling and requirements gathering techniques
• Solid understanding of SQL and database management concepts
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and software development lifecycle
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
• Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural environments
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Japanese is a plus
• CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification is preferred
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
