Within our Crisis and Security Consulting team, our Built Environment Consulting, and Security Design Engineers are required to deliver early-stage risk-based security strategies and planning which inform the wider concept master planning stages. This informs the work delivered in latter coordinated design and technical design stages.
The successful applicant will be a part of our Dubai hub team, supporting clients across the region as part of our broader EMEA team of over 100 crisis and security consultants. The role will include:
- Undertaking fee earning consultancy, including but not limited to the assessment of risk, working with project stakeholders to define security strategies and high-level planning, concept and detailed master planning. Concept and detailed technical design including the development of performance specifications and design guidance notes.
- Assisting, and designing for our engagements, including technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections and approvals, working at client sites and in the office.
- Designing physical and electronic security systems to an appropriate level, working in conjunction with specialist engineers from other organisations within project design teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor ensure requests from clients and prospects are dealt with effectively.
- Operational responsibility for and collaborative input into performance management of team members.
- Support adoption of innovative approaches to development of current practices and new solutions.
- Support the development of client proposals and the building of project budgets to define scope and determine pricing prior to sign-off by designated managers.
Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of the CPTED principles and other leading initiatives including Secured by Design and recognised safety and security planning guidance.
- Understanding and experience of delivering physical and electronic security design consulting across RIBA Plan of Work stages.
- Knowledge and experience of aviation security design is benificial.
- Proven experience of delivering consultancy-based engagements.
- Membership of a security or design engineering related institute.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with proven ability to participate in speaking engagements.
- Ability to liaise with and build successful client relationships.
- Ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information.
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in risk management, design or related security, crisis and/or business continuity fields.
- Security related professional certification.
- Knowledge of, and experience using design-related software, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project and other relevant software experience.
