BSA Compliance Specialist
The Consumers Credit Union team is looking to hire a passionate BSA Compliance Specialist. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of activities as part of the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Vulnerable Adult compliance programs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Performs daily review, monitoring and analysis of various reports, logs, transaction data and software alerts to identify and research unusual or suspicious activity.
- Reviews OFAC, FinCEN 314(a), and other watchlist search results.
- Ensures that Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) are accurately filed within required timeframes.
- Conducts research as requested to support the credit union’s CTR exemption approval and review process
- Utilizes data to research and build a case or activity for suspicious activity and/or scenarios
- Drafts and files suspicious activity reports (SARs) within required timeframes
- Manages Vulnerable Adult cases per policy requirements, including but not limited to continued monitoring, account and service restrictions, and mandatory reporting to Adult Protective Services.
- Conducts enhanced due diligence for members as applicable
- Assists with developing and maintaining procedures related to BSA/AML compliance
- Conducts transaction testing, data validation, and ongoing customization of monitoring systems
- Build proficiency and expertise operating the Verafin BSA/AML software, including ongoing research and training in the Customer Community and handling support tickets.
- Attends BSA/AML related training as directed
- Reviews and contributes to compliance training materials for staff as needed
- Assists in preparation for internal audits or examinations.
- Coordinates with, and provides support to, the Fraud Department, as assigned.
- Provides support for general compliance activities, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior banking experience is required.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
