Brand Product Development Manager

As a Product Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the product development process by defining new program requirements in collaboration with the sales teams, ensuring seamless progression from the point of initiation to customer
approval and program deployment. In this position, you will orchestrate developments across multiple customers and product lines. This role provides in-depth product knowledge within our product lines by bringing insights, solutions, and options to the sales team and the customer. The Brand Product Development Manager partners closely with our Global Program Deployment (GPD) team to deploy new items into production.


Your Responsibilities
● Strategically partner with the Commercial team to develop product opportunities, to drive key initiatives and to achieve
sales objectives for assigned accounts.
● Lead the product development process from customer briefing to artwork development, costing/pricing, sampling, and final
approval.
● Establish relationships with key customer counterparts and manage them independent of the Commercial team.
● Providing the greatest value solution for the Brand needs, by gathering product specifications for new programs, or
redesigns of existing programs, and re-engineering options to meet target prices.
● Coordinate with GPD team and variable data end-to-end specialists to deploy new items to production.
● Look at the end to end development process to identify and support process efficiencies.
● Path to become the Subject Matter Expert in Digital Solutions and linkage between the physical and digital product.
● Analyze global price proposals using established tools and guidelines and escalate price approval in competitive situations.
● Understand market pricing and how to leverage with the Brand.
● Share best practices with the global CPD team
● Is involved in the onboarding, coaching and mentoring of new and less experienced CPDs
● Executes digital sampling, re-engineering, smart sampling initiatives with the customer
● Bring industry trends and product innovations topics to the customer to influence adoption of Avery Dennison solutions.
● In some cases, will be specialized in a specific Product, and become the technical expert in that area ( ex. Embelex)

● 7+ years of experience in new product development.
● In-depth Knowledge of the retail, apparel or label industries.
● Passion for products, trends, insights, possibilities, and development.
● Display exceptional relationship building skills to establish and nurture customer relationships.
● Demonstrated ability to be highly organized while managing multiple projects to completion against tight deadlines.
● Strong knowledge of printing, weaving, heat transfer, variable data, and manufacturing strongly preferred.
● Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Thrive in a collaborative, matrixed environment,
coordinating with multiple people and global functions.
● High level of PC skills, including use of Word, Excel, ERP (Oracle preferred), pricing tools, product/customer databases.
● Possess strong mathematical skills for pricing and price negotiation.
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge gained through training and experience.
