Brand Manager – Fuels, Lubricants & Convenience Retail
Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for all aspects of brand management in Retail fuels, Lubricants (Direct & Indirect) and Convenience Retail (CR). In this multi-category role, you will be responsible for creating and executing cohesive brand strategies that drive growth, enhance brand equity, and deepen customer loyalty across each segment.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Brand Activity Plan Development
- Develop and execute brand plans that support business objectives across fuels, lubricants, and convenience retail.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for brand differentiation and growth within each segment.
- Ensure brand consistency across all channels and customer touchpoints, while tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each category.
2. Marketing Campaigns Execution
- Plan and lead multi-channel marketing campaigns, coordinating across fuels, lubricants, and retail to create impactful, integrated promotions.
- Develop and implement category-specific marketing plans that include ATL & BTL touchpoints
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, retail operations, commercial) to ensure seamless execution of plans and maximize campaign impact.
- Analyze and report on campaign performance, adjusting strategies based on insights and feedback.
3. Budgeting and Financial Management
- Track expenses and manage budget adherence for each category, optimizing spend based on ROMI analysis.
- Administrative support for VE Botswana to ensure 100% recovery of the Brand Promotion Funds contributions.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all brand-related activities across fuels, lubricants, and retail, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, supply chain, digital marketing, and external agencies, to drive cohesive brand initiatives.
- Coordinate with retail teams to ensure seamless integration of brand strategies within store environments and customer interactions.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate must have:
- A seasoned marketing professional with a degree in Sales & Marketing or equivalent qualifications and over 5 years of relevant work experience
- Must have good project management skills, able to handle multiple projects at a time.
- Strong FMCG experience including brand building, concept/CVP development, financial accountability, development and implementation of big marketing initiatives.
