ASOS Brand Development Manager 

The Brand Development Manager's role is to make ASOS the go to multi brand retailer for fashion loving twenty somethings. From making sure we are first to market with acquiring the hottest global brands, to building best in class go to market strategies to streamlining and driving speed and efficiencies in our onboarding processes – this role is diverse and strategic with a key element being anchored in brand facing relationships. The role is responsible for elevating and diversifying our branded portfolio, engaging, pitching and bringing the most relevant brands onto the ASOS site and building them for long term, sustainable success.

The Team

The Brand development team falls within the 3rd Party Brands function; it is our job to make sure the hottest brands are on the ASOS website and to maximise the trading opportunities with our brand partners on the ASOS.com platform.

What you will be doing

  • Create a brand development strategy for ASOS to keep our portfolio of brands relevant and exciting, driving better consumer connection and scaling brands to hit sales and profit expectations within set timelines
  • Identifying our brand acquisition ‘wish’ list, staying on top of global and social trends to make ASOS first to market in fashion
  • Driving a branded localization strategy for our core markets
  • Creating a personalized approach to win over our target brands, showing them why ASOS should be their global partner of choice and delivering impactful sales pitches
  • Negotiating the best terms for ASOS with partners
  • Utilizing wholesale and flexible fulfilment models to diversify our buying strategies and using test & react mindset to identify which brands we should be distorting investment into
  • Drive efficiencies and speed into our onboarding process by being the brand facing lead from end to end, making the process frictionless for partners and faster to market for ASOS
  • Work effectively with internal teams within ASOS, Legal, supply chain, governance, marketing to establish seamless and efficient process for new brands 
  • Define, launch and execute best in class go to market strategy for new brands in partnership with our creative and marketing teams, set up brands for success before handing over the product teams to manage
  • Lead regular meetings with Partner Brands Director and wider Product team to review planned projects and initiatives
  • Pro-actively suggest ideas to improve the department efficiency, to increase ASOS exposure and raise our profile to support our growth
  • Ability to build and delivery strategies
  • A love for fashion and understanding of the 3rd party brand space
  • Work well under pressure and move at speed to hit deliverables
  • Brand acquisition and onboarding experience
  • Expert at driving efficiencies and speed in processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication including creating and delivering sales pitches tailored to each individual brand
  • Creative, analytical and goal orientated
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative with a thinking outside the box mindset
  • Experience with building relationships partnerships
