The Brand & Communications Lead role is the first of its kind for BrightLocal. It will form an integral part of the Marketing Team and will be responsible for elevating BrightLocal’s brand recognition and reputation amongst its target audiences.
Over the years, BrightLocal has created a unique and respected brand presence in the local SEO industry. Our brand is our pride. It is built on our expertise and authority on matters in local marketing, delivered with a lot of heart and creative appeal. We aim to uplift and illuminate in every interaction.
We need a leader to continue to set us apart and grow our awareness and influence and, in turn, our business, predominantly in North America and the UK. As part of a marketing team focused on growth through new customer acquisition, you’ll be clued up on how brand marketing can fuel the demand generation engine.
Success in this role requires boldness and creativity. You'll introduce new ideas and work with others to make them happen. You’ll be expected to set the brand and communications strategy and organise the team around your delivery plans. The role will encompass responsibilities across brand strategy and execution, design, communications and PR, and events. It also comes with people management responsibilities for a Social and Community Manager, a Marketing and Events Executive, and two designers.
Working in this role means having a direct impact. You will shape the perception of BrightLocal in the marketplace, build out the brand and communications function in your vision, and see how your work makes a difference to your team and our business.
Responsibilities:
Brand strategy and execution
The custodian of our brand essence and personality. Making sure our brand is delivered consistently, everywhere.
Manage design requests and our in-house designers to deliver briefs on brand and on time
Build and manage a roster of freelance agencies and contractors that can provide design services when demand exceeds our in-house capacity or capability
Brand awareness and reputation
Develop our brand voice and narrative that attracts decision-makers and influencers in local SEO and guide the team to push this out across platforms that gain us the most attention
Social & community - continuing to grow our reach and engagement through our socials
Events & webinars - establish our events programme and ensure we deliver a memorable experience at every event we participate in. Refresh and elevate our webinar programme to attract larger brand and agency audiences.
PR - land platforms for speaking opprtounties. Establish a press office function to promote our research and thought leadership
Email communications - shape and deliver our email communications strategy
Team leadership
Manage resources and create processes to enable a smooth-running function that’s fully integrated with the wider Marketing Team
Set objectives to guide the performance of direct reports and agency partners. Guiding and coaching the team to do their best work
Set KPIs to measure the impact of initiatives
Take responsibility for the successful execution of the strategy, managing the associated plans and budgets, and reporting on initiatives to the Marketing and Commerical Teams
