About the Team

The AllTrails marketing team is building a global, beloved outdoors brand. We launch and scale creative, impactful initiatives to drive awareness of AllTrails and bring more people onto the AllTrails platform. The Brand Communications team is responsible for building and amplifying the AllTrails brand across earned, affiliate, and social media channels. 

As Brand Communications Associate, you’ll provide critical support to our public relations and affiliate programs. You’ll engage with earned and affiliate media partners to help make AllTrails a household name. You’ll work across the Brand Communications and other Marketing teams to make our campaigns great(er). You’ll foster and grow love for our brand among our community of more than 60M members. 

The right candidate brings a track record of success in public relations and/or affiliate marketing. They are a natural storyteller and relationship-builder who can connect brand initiatives to business impacts. They are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven. Above all, this person is inspired to help people around the world get out and enjoy the outdoors. This is an individual contributor role that reports to the Head of Public Relations. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Telling the AllTrails story: sharing our mission to kindle the spirit of adventure by engaging with media, agency, and affiliate partners
  • Managing affiliate relationships, recruitment, outreach, and reporting
  • Tracking and reporting on affiliate program performance, focusing on actionable insights and opportunities to improve
  • Supporting evergreen, seasonal, and responsive brand comms resources including messaging, content creation, data analysis,  interview prep, and calendars
  • Conducting ongoing publisher outreach, recruitment, and optimizations in timely moments
  • Coordinating across the team to ensure consistent and quality brand messaging
  • Keeping us current on relevant trends, technologies, and media moments
  • Plan and execute high-touch press events that foster brand love with influential journalists
  • This role may require occasional domestic and/or international travel

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience, including direct roles in public relations and/or affiliate marketing
  • Driven and innately curious about building and enhancing a leading consumer brand
  • Well-organized and excellent at time management
  • Works with urgency to deliver on media and internal deadlines
  • Strong editorial or journalistic writing skills
  • Well-versed and well-connected in the media landscape: you know the platforms, people, and media organizations that matter 
  • Trend-aware: you are quick to develop an on-brand angle that’s relevant to the conversation of the moment 
  • Results-oriented: you are highly motivated and comfortable in fast-paced work environments that are outcome-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with Excel skills to match
  • Receptive to change: you are flexible, adaptable, and always seeking to improve
  • Cross-functional team player with a track record of building relationships and influencing across teams and levels

Bonus Points:

  • Agency experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, or marketing
  • Experience working at a mobile-first DTC company
  • High-growth or subscription business experience
  • Experience with affiliate networks (Awin, Share-A-Sale, Impact)
  • Experience with tools including  MuckRack, Figma, Confluence, and/or Looker
  • Experience with marketing design and reporting tools including MuckRack, Figma, Confluence, Looker, and Canva
