Are you ready to lead and inspire? We’re looking for a Branch Manager to support the Shasta Public Libraries, which include the Anderson Library, Burney Library, and the Redding Library. You’ll manage the daily operations of a bustling 40,000-square-foot library, working with a team of 30+ part-time and full-time employees.
As the Branch Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team, creating a welcoming space where the community can explore, learn, and connect. You’ll also build strong partnerships with local officials to ensure the libraries remain essential community hubs. Annual Salary Range: $66,560 - $70, 000

- Know, understand and administer the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library; in addition to these freedoms, support client discretion of materials available at your local library(ies)
- Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records.

Requirements
Qualifications:
An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.
- MLIS Required
- Three years supervisory experience is preferred
- Three years of progressively responsible library managerial experience and/or administrative functions of a library, or equivalent knowledge is preferred
- Experience in a role that requires frequent interaction with customers, fulfilling the requests of customers and responsibility for addressing customer issues, questions and suggestions is preferred
- Experience analyzing and applying financial reports and library related data (usage, demographics, trends, etc.) is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
- Occasionally lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, books, and other materials.
