We are looking for an experienced BI Developer with expertise in DBT Labs, ETL tools (Microsoft stack preferred), Snowflake, and Power BI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining robust BI solutions, ensuring efficient data transformation, and delivering high-quality insights through reporting and visualization.
Your activities will include:
- Develop and maintain BI solutions using Power BI, focusing on Power Query and DAX for data transformation and reporting.
- Build and optimize data models in Snowflake, ensuring efficient querying and performance tuning for analytics.
- Leverage DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation, modeling, and version control within the data warehouse.
- Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar) for data integration and transformation.
- Work with REST APIs for data extraction and ingestion into the Snowflake environment.
- Ensure data quality and consistency by performing data cleansing, normalization, and transformation.
- Optimize reporting processes to enhance performance, automate workflows, and improve data accessibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, gather data, and deliver insightful reports.
- Utilize Azure DevOps (or similar version control tools) for managing BI assets, SQL scripts, and ETL processes.
- Assess and improve existing data architecture, ensuring best practices in warehouse design, security, and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in BI development, focusing on Power BI, SQL, and data modeling.
- Strong experience in Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse, including performance tuning and best practices.
- You should hold certifications such as Power BI Data Analyst Associate or similar Microsoft Data certifications.
- Hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modeling.
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools, preferably within the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar).
- Experience working with REST APIs for data extraction and ingestion.
- Understanding of Kimball methodology and dimensional modeling for data warehousing.
- Ability to work independently, gather data from multiple sources, and develop impactful reports.
- Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other version control systems for managing BI assets.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with Python or SQL scripting for automation and data transformation.
- Exposure to dbt Cloud and dbt Core for version-controlled transformations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices in BI development.
- Experience in cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, BigQuery, in addition to Snowflake.
