Best Drive is a dynamic and rapidly growing company in the retail truck tires industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Investment Controller to join our finance team. The Investment Controller will play a pivotal role in managing our capital spending, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources, driving financial success for the company, and actively contributing to the financial consolidation into Continental. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Essential Duties:
1. Business Case Development:
- Collaborate with department heads to create comprehensive business cases for capital spending projects.
- Conduct in-depth financial analyses, including ROI calculations and risk assessments, to support investment decisions.
- Ensure that all proposed capital projects align with the company's strategic objectives.
2. Capital Spend Management:
- Develop and maintain a structured process for tracking and managing the company's total capital spend.
- Monitor ongoing projects to ensure they stay within budget and meet established milestones.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend adjustments when necessary.
3. Forecasting, Planning, and Reporting:
- Lead the development of annual and multi-year operating plans.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align spending plans with operational needs and financial targets.
- Prepare regular financial reports, including variance analysis, to provide insights into spending performance.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
4. Financial Consolidation into Continental:
- Actively participate in the financial consolidation process as the company integrates into Continental.
- Collaborate with Continental's finance teams to ensure seamless integration of financial processes and systems.
- Assist in aligning financial reporting and accounting practices with Continental's standards.
5. Identification and Implementation of Synergies and Cost Optimization:
- Analyze the operations of both Best Drive and Continental to identify opportunities for synergies and cost optimization.
- Develop strategies and plans to implement identified synergies and cost-saving initiatives.
- Monitor the progress of cost optimization initiatives and report on their impact on the company's financial performance.
6. Assist in internal audits at store facilities:
- Partner with Audit Manager to lead and assist on internal audits at company locations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or Accounting,
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, investment control, or capital expenditure management.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software, including PowerBI, and Microsoft Excel.
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 7 years in financial analysis, investment control, or capital expenditure management.
- Experience managing direct reports.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work hours are generally 8-5 Monday – Friday.
- General office environment; prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Employee is regularly required to stand, bend, lift and walk.
- Occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
- Travel 10-25% domestically
