Benefits Specialist

Los Angeles based Internet Brands is currently looking for a Benefits Specialist.
Responsibilities
 
Benefit Plan Administration & Compliance:
- Assist with design, implementation, and day-to-day administration of benefit programs, including health & welfare benefit plans, 401(k) plan, and other employee services
- Advise and counsel employees and dependents on day-to-day benefit-related questions Partner with finance, payroll, HRIS, legal, and vendors to effectively and efficiently perform all aspects of benefit program management, including ensuring accuracy of benefit deductions and streamlining current processes and procedures to ensure proper data flow to relevant parties
- Serve as liaison with third-party benefit administrators to provide prompt assistance to employees and/or dependents in resolving benefit issues, account corrections or emergency response needs
- Assist with provider premium billing statements and resolve any discrepancies. 
- Work closely with Payroll to ensure proper deduction and funding of all employee and employer retirement plan contributions. Assist in the efforts associated with tax and ERISA compliance audits and reporting.
- Address employee inquiries regarding benefits and assist with enrollment processes, including COBRA administration.
- Support annual benefits open enrollment planning and execution. Help develop effective communication strategy to educate and reach diverse employee population
- Keep abreast of policies, legislative changes, and legal requirements, such as ERISA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act to assist with plan compliance efforts.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to:
- Company wellness initiatives and employee services
- Commuter program support
 
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or other relevant field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Benefits, preferably working in mid-sized companies (1,000-3,000 employees).
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to benefits and other HR functions.
- Experience working with and managing relationships with outside consultants and third party vendors.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a team setting, as well as be a strong individual contributor.
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits management software
- Experience with Google suite (Google sheets, docs and drives) and Microsoft suite (Word, Excel) of products.
 
Preferred: 
- Knowledge of benefits enrollment/administration systems and HRIS preferred but not required.

We expect the annualized rate for this role to start at $54k and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
