Marcus & Millichap, Inc, the nation’s largest commercial real estate investment brokerage company (80+ offices in North America), is looking to hire a highly motivated Benefits Administrator.

The Benefits Administrator position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of benefit plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life & disability, and retirement plans and must have strong knowledge of federal & state regulations for all programs. This position will provide excellent customer service to all levels of employees and partner closely with both the Sr. Director of Payroll and Director of Benefits.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Calabasas, CA is $70,000-$85,000/annual. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.  Marcus & Millichap is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states

Responsibilities:

  • Handle managers that may involve complex and/or sensitive matters.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on benefit-related topics according to company policies and procedures.
  • Process daily benefits administration for enrollment, COBRA, terminations, qualifying life events, life insurance claims, 401K loans and hardships.
  • Coordinating onboarding and offboarding of employee benefit enrollments.
  • Ensure employee benefit files are efficiently maintained within ADP-WFN.  
  • Must conduct daily monitoring and auditing benefits plan(s) to ensure payroll deductions are accurate.
  • Validate and reconcile the deduction and contribution data files electronically sent to the benefit and retirement plan carriers such as Cigna, Kaiser, WEX, Fidelity, etc.
  • Assist the Director of Benefits with the annual open enrollment process and update ADP with new benefit plans & rates.
  • Process mandatory benefit enrollment and termination for Canadian employees and agents (as applicable) through current carrier.
  • Coordinate, audit and process monthly benefits billing.
  • Provide backup for the payroll team.
  • Oversee the verification of employment process with our third-party provider, The Work Number.
  • Partner with Human Resources Generalist to calculate benefit payments and set-up payment plan for employees on a leave of absence.
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding Benefits plans to recommend appropriate action as applicable.   
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for benefit programs.
  • Respond to benefit inquiries with a sense of urgency.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned. 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-years Benefits Administration experience with knowledge on multi-states and Canada requirements is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and previous experience with ADP WFN.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary in both written and verbal format.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and partner to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and frequently manage multiple priorities.
  • Will need to be self-motivated, adaptable to work on a variety of projects plus work independently and as a team player.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficient time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate if appropriate.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
