The Behavioral Health Manager plays a vital role in leading and coordinating the delivery of behavioral health therapy services. This dynamic position involves partnering with interdisciplinary leadership teams to coordinate care, ensure care continuity, and drive meaningful outcomes for ChildServe children and families.
What You'll Do
- Ensure teams maintain a direct client caseload and productivity that is reflective of the department’s clinical and performance goals.
- Set a strong clinical example for the department and assure adherence to ChildServe policies and procedures, professional code of ethics for mental health, state of Iowa and professional practice acts, and regulatory body guidelines for professional conduct.
- Conduct clinical observations, and provide appropriate recommendations, referrals, and/or follow-up for each case.
- Provide clinical expertise for behavioral health services, research best-practice principles, and create treatment protocols and competencies for the service area.
- Complete quarterly clinical and administrative documentation audits on client files. Oversee audit process, including quarterly self and supervisor audits of client files as assigned per compliance process.
- Collect/complete performance documentation (family feedback, adverse events, etc) and coordinate with the Director and/or Vice President to complete any family/staff communication and follow-up that needs to occur.
- Participate in CARF attainment for mental health services and ensure compliance with CARF standards for services under this position’s purview.
- Effectively manage the performance of each staff member towards success, and perform timely annual performance appraisals, corrective plans of action, and development plans.
- Operate the behavioral health services within service area budgets and performance goals.
What You'll Need
- PhD or Master’s degree in behavioral health field (mental health, psychology, etc) from an accredited educational institution.
- Three years of clinical experience as a licensed therapist, with an active professional Iowa license as a therapist.
- One year of pediatric experience.
- Three years of leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare/therapy program setting.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
