We are looking for a battery assembly lead technician to join our team. The goal of a battery assembly technician at Wisk is to ensure that the battery system is produced safely and correctly. You will be part of the Energy Storage & Power System team that is responsible for producing the battery system for the aircraft.
Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View office.
What you will do:
- In this role you will be responsible for following standardized work processes, specifications and best practices while assembling battery system parts. You will use test fixtures, work instructions and shop aides to ensure battery part fabrication is done properly. You will follow safety procedures and be expected to work in a safe manner.
- You will work with manufacturing engineers and quality control to properly document any non-conformance or deviations from the established work instructions.
- You will take part in production safety of flight builds as well as engineering builds to support the delivery of the Gen 6 aircraft.
- You will support ESPS & testing teams to deliver module assemblies and battery packs for various testing being performed
- You will help support problem solving activities with the production manager and engineering team.
- You will help coordinate day to day work tasks for technicians and help manage build schedules. Make sure technicians have parts and tools they need.
- As a battery assembly lead technician, you will help ensure safety procedures are followed in the work area and report safety hazards or concerns.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment conducting hands-on repetitive tasks at a high rate.
- Strong mechanical/electrical background with understanding of basic electronic and mechanical hand tools.
- Able to work from assembly instructions, verbal instructions, and occasionally schematics with minimal guidance.
- You are familiar with battery and battery assembly
