Bank Operations Team Manager

We are looking for a proactive and driven Team Manager with a background in overseeing technical and operational teams within the financial services sector.

In this role, you will be a guiding force for our Bank Operations Specialists, actively collaborating with Yapily Engineering teams and Financial Institutions on tasks such as API gateway monitoring, incident management, licence management, and improving the quality of our Open Banking integrations. As a subject matter expert and function owner, your primary focus will be on maintaining seamless operations within a rapidly evolving landscape.

The ideal candidate will have strong collaborative skills, will be solutions-focused, and able to implement frameworks and operational procedures that facilitate effective Bank Operations management. Above all, we are seeking an inspirational leader capable of communicating effectively and promoting a results-driven culture.

Requirements

  • Leading a team of Bank Operations specialists and managing day-to-day operational activities of the team
  • Providing effective feedback, coaching, and supporting team members in their personal and professional development journeys
  • Monitoring team progress to identify areas for improvement and required additional training
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate API gateway performance and efficient issue resolution
  • Analysing customers' and financial institutions' behaviour to ensure the best use of our APIs and identifying the areas of improvement
  • Ensuring Yapily’s SLA (Service Level Agreements) targets with customers are upheld, identifying ways to improve our service delivery
  • Working closely with Yapily’s Product teams on analysis and implementation of API improvements
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders from relevant financial institutions



Preferred experience

  • Leadership experience and strong communication skills to effectively convey expectations, provide feedback, and resolve conflicts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Previous experience in a FinTech or API-first company
  • Capacity to identify and address operational challenges in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines
  • Experience in using project management tools and methodologies to streamline workflows and ensure project success
  • Familiarity with Open Banking APIs and related technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration) is preferred
