About the role
Our client is the leading venture-backed provider of Application Relationship Management software, enabling complex, global enterprises to discover and protect the relationships between users, digital assets, and data.
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design and create web applications and software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, operations, and QA teams. Your expertise in software development will contribute to the stability, reliability, and feature advancement of our customers.
Main Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement reliable and scalable web applications, APIs, and web visualizations for a data-driven product
Work with a team of highly skilled engineers and product managers to analyze requirements and contribute to the planning, estimating, and work breakdown of new features, defects, and technical changes
Work with an Agile team following Kanban practices with a strong Jira discipline
Follow and contribute to software best practices like unit testing, security, performance & scale, logging, and documentation
Job Skills/Requirements
- +90% English written and oral (at least B2 level) with excellent communication skills
- Strong REST API development skills, knowledge of best practices, supporting frameworks, and tools (e.g. Swagger, Postman)
- Advanced expertise in GoLang and Python (ideally with their latest versions)
- Strong understanding of oAuth and RBAC practices for securing APIs
- Experience with SQL, GraphQL, or other query languages
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Experience with building and deploying to Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Comfortable in web-related troubleshooting with knowledge of networking (e.g. DNS), load balancers, reverse proxies, and basic web server knowledge (e.g. NGINX)
- Expertise in SPA applications using React and TypeScript is a plus
- Ability to take business requests and break them down into manageable steps to achieve a goal
- Capable of designing a moderately sized software project, putting together a project plan to accomplish it, tracking progress, and executing it with a team
- Able to see the big picture of how systems interact with one another
