Volt Lines is a technology powered mobility platform aiming to solve urban mobility problems. We view empty seats in traffic as both the cause of the problem and its solution. There are more than 50,000 buses in Istanbul operating at 9% efficiency and we want to solve this problem. Making shuttle buses smarter, more efficient, and dynamic, we create an alternative transportation network that can replace even car ownership. About the Role
We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to building innovative solutions that enhance the future of transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain server-side applications to support Volt Lines’ business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design new features.
- Optimize and improve existing backend architecture for performance and reliability.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of backend systems.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and integrate them into the development process.
- Contribute to database design and management, ensuring data integrity and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in backend development, preferably with Python.
- Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask) and libraries.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity in Redis, Kafka, and message queue systems.
- Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization (Docker).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles.
- Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.
