Barbaricum is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support the design, develop, and maintanenance of AWS cloud-based applications and services for a DoD client.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain AWS cloud-based applications and services
  • Implement and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure using approved, in-region services
  • Write, test, and debug scalable and efficient code
  • Implement security measures and best practices
  • Create and maintain documentation for cloud systems and processes
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (CDK)
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and costs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery for cloud systems
  • Work with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, etc.
  • Optimize application performance 

Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI with Poly
  • Proficiency with Python programming and experience using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tasks.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems in cloud or enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with Managed Active Directory (AD) services for identity management and access control.
  • Experience implementing and managing Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
  • Security+ certification, demonstrating knowledge of foundational security principles and practices.
  • Experience with networking concepts and protocols, including network configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Experience working with AWS clients.
