AWS Cognito Engineer

Full-Time

 

  • Design and implement secure authentication and authorization solutions using AWS Cognito. 

  • Deploy and manage Cognito user pools, identity pools, and federated identities to support a large set of users via Terraform. 

  • Write custom Lambda functions that can be added as triggers in Cognito user pools. 

  • Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) policies in Cognito. 

  • Integrate Cognito with other AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and DynamoDB to create comprehensive security architectures. 

  • Work with frontend and backend development teams to ensure secure and seamless integration of Cognito for user management and authentication. 

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Cognito implementations for performance and security. 

  • Stay up to date with AWS security practices and Cognito updates to ensure our solutions are robust against threats. 

  • Document architectures, procedures, and processes for managing and deploying Cognito solutions. 

  • Provide technical guidance and training to other team members on AWS Cognito and security best practices. 

 

  • Studies in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent. 

  • Experience with Terraform for deploying infrastructure as code (IaC). 

  • Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration is a plus. 

  • Knowledge of web security protocols and frameworks. 

  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. 

  • Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and JWT. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. 

  • Knowledge of AWS is required, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Security Specialty certification is a plus. 

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript is a plus. 

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

You will need excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication with the team. 

How much experience must I have? 

  • In order to thrive in this role, you must have at least 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer working with AWS services.
