ispace Technologies, US. located in Denver Colorado is a looking for a highly motivated and talented Avionics Design Engineer to join its new team.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly design, develop and test highly reliable electronics for the APEX 1.0 Spacecraft
- Support hardware development and production through design, assembly, test & integration
- Assist in developing test plans for flight qualification of avionics
- Evaluate and develop Avionics system requirements
- Drive component design and components selection as well as system verification testing, troubleshooting and requirement(s) closure
- Collaborate with software, hardware, supply chain and integration teams throughout the development life cycle
- Create and manage supplier procurement specifications and statements of work
- Assure product and process quality by testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and developing manufacturing processes
- Design Test Procedures for screening hardware against syst level requirements
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering or science. We will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- 5+ years of experience in avionics component and/or system design, development and testing
- Assure product and process quality by testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and developing manufacturing processes
- Experience with spacecraft and/or launch vehicle sensor architecture design
- Experience with integrating hardware with software, and subsequent troubleshooting
- Experience developing test campaigns to validate component and/or system performance
- Proven track record of leading design development from concept through fabrication, testing and integration
- Familiarity with project management tools, including Atlassian
- Experience with circuit board design & design for manufacturing
- Position requires access to export-controlled commodities , technical data, software and services.
Preferred Qualification
- Proficiency in scripting languages and 3D CAD modeling software
- Experience with high voltage devices, lithium ion batteries, or power distribution optimization
- Design-for-integration experience
- Strong analysis skills, specifically to assess test results to validate system performance
- Competency in electrical test equipment to support test team on dev and flight campaigns
- Experience with common industry standards for spacecraft design and integration; including, but not limited to, NASA-STD-8739.4, NASA-HDBK-4001, NASA-STD-4003, SMC-S-010, & SMC-S-016
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced design and development environment
- Schedule may vary depending on program development needs; flexibility required
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary based upon experience - $115,000 - $135,000. The salary range posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
