AV Operations Manager (Swing Shift)

 

About the role:

 

Cruise is looking for an Operations Manager to help us test, improve and oversee the performance of our supervised autonomous vehicle fleet. This individual will work hand-in-hand with AV Test Operators, Coordinators, engineers, technicians, and leadership team to manage and continuously improve operations and personnel management.

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Establish and drive the highest standards for supervised operations to ensure everyone is operating safely
  • Manage swing operations and personnel at Launch and Land sites to improve vehicle utilization and AV hardware/software testing execution
  • Manage a team of AV Ops Coordinators and AV Test Operators
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage fleet movements, charging and maintenance to ensure vehicle availability and readiness
  • Provide key feedback and updates to counterparts and leadership as needed on key issues and information
  • Drive continuous improvement through experimentation and process optimization through safely increasing vehicle utilization
  • Serve as a key partner in hiring, managing, developing, reviewing and terminating personnel

 

What you must have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field
  • 4+ years of professional work experience in product/av operations, management consulting, rideshare, mobility sectors
  • 2+ years of experience directly leading teams
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Ability to handle dynamic assignments, including flexible schedules
  • Ability to keep calm and perform well under pressure
  • Comfort with ambiguity; bias to action
  • Ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and offer immediate, fair, and honest feedback when needed
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to fulfill the company’s mission

 

Bonus points!

 

  • Experience leading safety critical operations in technology or automotive industries
  • Experience managing and deploying key assets

 

The salary range for this position is $91,800 - 135,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
