Pay: $19-$24 hourly, depending on experience
Role and Team
- Reporting to the Mechanic Shop or designated manager, this position will prepare auto repair estimates for customers. Deliver and explain repair estimates to customers, obtain approvals, order parts and communicate needs to Mechanic staff performing the work.
Responsibilities
- Review vehicle inspection reports and determine the cost of repair or replacement.
- Prepare accurate and efficient estimates for parts and labor using estimating systems and standard industry practices.
- Deliver, explain and obtain approvals on repair estimates for internal and/or external customers
- Create and maintain customer files, both digital and paperwork.
- Order parts according to approved estimates and work tickets scheduled.
- Track and prepare parts received for work to be completed.
- Keep up to date with new vehicle technologies and repair techniques
- Maintain a professional appearance and friendly disposition by greeting others.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Report all incidents to management immediately.
- Document the stock number, vin number, model, make, of each vehicle as well as the customer.
- Return customer’s vehicles in clean condition.
- Run inventory reports for the mechanic shop, and print repair orders.
- Properly complete all work documentation and data entry in computer systems.
- Advise the designated Manager of all equipment breakdowns and required maintenance immediately.
- Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Manager.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; post secondary education in automotive repair or related field preferred
- Proficiency in using automotive appraisal software
- In depth knowledge of automotive repair processes and parts costs
- 1 year of estimating in an auto repair environment
- Auction knowledge and experience is a plus
- Proficient computer skills
- Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving with strong multitasking skills
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments, including exposure to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold).
- Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
