Audio/Visual Student Undergraduate Intern - Summer 2025

We have an opening for an undergraduate Student Audio/Visual Intern to work alongside the LivIT Audio Visual Services (AVS) team to help AVS accomplish its goals. The intern should be an undergraduate-level student desiring to obtain practical Audio/Visual experience to further their educational and career goals. Under guidance from the AVS team, the student intern will provide entry- to mid-level A/V or videography support for the daily operations and activities at the Lab.

In this role you will 

  • Work alongside a technical team to set up AV equipment and support live and hybrid events.
  • Work with a team to help manage technical execution of events including preparation, pre-checklist, design, layout, equipment, event execution, postproduction /follow-up.
  • Work side by side with a technical team to deliver results.
  • Work in various positions on the AV team as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in Technical Editing, Multimedia, Audio Engineering, Videography, or other related fields.
  • Ability to work well within a team to deliver a live event production experience.
  • Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
  • Experience in video switching and audio recording.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in video production tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and others (or equivalent, such as Final Cut Pro).
  • GPA of 3.5 or above

Wireless and Medical Devices

Per the Department of Energy (DOE), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory must meet certain restrictions with the use and/or possession of mobile devices in Limited Areas. Depending on your job duties, you may be required to work in a Limited Area where you are not permitted to have a personal and/or laboratory mobile device in your possession.  This includes, but not limited to cell phones, tablets, fitness devices, wireless headphones, and other Bluetooth/wireless enabled devices.  

If you use a medical device, which pairs with a mobile device, you must still follow the rules concerning the mobile device in individual sections within Limited Areas.  Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities require separate approval. Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
