Overview & Primary Responsibilities

Bridges System Integration (Bridges SI) is seeking an In-House Audio Visual (AV) Rack Fabrication Technician. This role will include cable fabrication, installation of audio-visual gear and maintaining the highest standards of communication in reports and with all members within the organization.

Candidates should be highly proficient at reading and interpreting AutoCAD system flows. Also, the applicant should be extremely comfortable with all cabling types, and cable fabrication practices. This role also will include system debugging, and testing roles, to assist Field Engineers and Programmers in commissioning the final AV system product. Finally, this individual will be responsible for reporting the project’s daily status and updating system documentation throughout the project.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience as a rack fabrication technician.
  • Follow all company’s procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Produce timely and detailed daily reports.
  • Lead and direct junior-level technicians as required.
  • Ability to read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals.
  • Maintain complete and accurate as-built documentation of system installations.
  • Ability to cable fabricate, and test equipment racks and cabinets.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure sensitive situations.
  • Ability to use and operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test equipment properly and safely.
  • Ability to perceive differences in color and tone.
  • Ability to prep equipment and hardware for shipping.
  • Basic knowledge of network connectivity and methods.
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Physical condition to perform job duties and carrying weights more than 70 pounds; tolerance for prolonged walking or standing on various surfaces.
