Join Aprio's Assurance Team, and you will help clients maximize their opportunities.  Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Director of Assurance Operations join their dynamic team.   The Director of Assurance Operations drives strategic initiatives and is tasked with enhancing and overseeing the operational aspects of the firm's Assurance Practice. Key responsibilities include driving innovation and continuous improvement, collaborating with Assurance and firm leadership, analyzing assurance P&L, supporting M&A due diligence and integration, and reporting to the Assurance Practice Group Director.   This role involves collaborating with regional and local assurance practice leaders to drive strategic initiatives to improve operational processes, workflows, and tools. The Director will work closely with the Assurance Practice Group Director to maintain high standards of quality, innovation, and methodology throughout the assurance practice. Position Responsibilities:
  • Continually enhance assurance processes, workflows, and tools to increase efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Identify and implement new technologies to streamline operations and improve client service delivery.
  • Partner with the finance team to develop and set annual revenue and personnel budgets for the Assurance practice.
  • Regularly review monthly financial performance to ensure it aligns with budget targets, and take corrective actions as needed to stay on track.
  • Evaluate staffing leverage and utilization, and work with recruiting to maintain an optimal staffing model.
  • Implement monitoring systems for engagement milestones, compliance, and budget adherence.
  • Lead assurance practice project activities from start to support, including discovery and implementation.
  • Be the driving force behind our strategic initiatives.
  • Manage integration activities for acquisitions as part of the firm's growth strategy.
  • Ensure seamless transitions and successful integrations.
  • Oversee operational policies, procedures, and administrative operations for the Assurance practice.
  • Work with cross-functional departments to ensure consistency and excellence. 
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • 10-15 years of prior experience in audit practice of a large national or super-regional accounting firm.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams, drive strategic initiatives, and cultivate strong client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of operational activities, software, and technology tools of an Assurance practice.
  • Experience with specific software tools like Caseware, Power BI, and Practice Engine is a plus.
  • Experience managing operational teams across multiple geographically diverse offices.
