THE ROLE
Edelman India has an immediate opening for an experienced (B2B) AVP within its PR technology practice.
Your role is to lead on some of the agency’s biggest mandates and be a senior partner for clients, providing them with strategic counsel around the implementation of their communications programmes. The candidate will also be responsible for devising new communications strategies for a variety of clients and ensuring account teams are delivering against client commitments with high-quality work. The candidate will be able to deliver strategic thinking as well as excellence in operations.
This role offers the opportunity to shape stories that distill complex concepts into compelling stories about how technology shapes and evolves our world. You will also have the unique opportunity to work on large scale global businesses and collaborate with talented tech PR professionals across Edelman’s worldwide network.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of storytelling, hands-on experience in earned media, social content development and moderation, message development and event management, familiarity with media and social media analytical tools, and excellent writing skills
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for Technology Practice and participate in key pitches and client meetings
- Demonstrate an understanding of today’s news and media landscape and the ability to think through how best to pitch a client’s story to shrinking newsrooms
- Understand key client information, including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors
- Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling logistics, and review agendas and recaps
- Research, compile and analyze the media landscape, pitching the right influencers and outlets to advance the reputation of our clients
- Write, edit and proofread materials including press releases, pitch letters, social copy and client correspondence
- Participate in new business process including research, audits and proposal development
- Demonstrate general knowledge of social media tools
- Commit to continuous learning through internal and external training opportunities

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- At least 9 years’ experience within an agency environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills, and can work in an agile, lean environment in which we collaborate in real-time with clients and partners.
- Track record developing and executing successful communications strategies and programmes.
- Possess strong leadership qualities and have in-depth experience effectively managing a group and helping employees grow.
- Excellent attention to detail and project management skills
- Excellent understanding of the media landscape, and ability to collaborate and communicate with multiple internal stakeholders, including strategic planning and creative.
- Demonstrate ability to lead and convert new business opportunities.
- Experience managing finances, including budget development, management, resourcing and forecasting.
- Team player who is focused on developing a collaborative work ethic within account teams and is committed to ensuring an excellent work environment
